Favorite places for spring break

Spring is one of the most ideal times to go on vacation with all the flowers in full bloom and great weather after the long cold winter days. For college students, it’s also time to enjoy spring break from school with friends. If you are one of those contemplating where to spend a relaxing spring break, consider some of our favorite spring break destinations in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean.

If you want to experience the places of the Mediterranean, you can choose to go to Spain, Portugal, Cyprus or Turkey. The coasts of Spain offer a variety of incredible beaches. Sunny weather can be enjoyed for at least five hours a day with average temperatures ranging from 18 to 22 degrees Celsius. The beaches of the Costa Blanca, Costa Almería and Costa Dorada to the Costa del Sol are not as crowded compared to the areas.

The same favorable climate can be experienced on the Spanish islands of the Balearic and Canary Islands. The Balearic Islands off the southeast coast are made up of Mallorca, Menorca, and the famous Ibiza. These places also have excellent beaches, ideal for the family. If you are a party person, Ibiza is highly recommended for its lively nightlife. In the meantime, you can also explore the Canary Islands off the west coast of Morocco. Experience excellent accommodation, beaches and a rich history on the so-called “big four” Canary holiday islands: Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote.

The southern coast of Portugal has a popular place that goes by the name of The Algarve. The spring weather is also very pleasant and the sandy beaches of the Algarve are ideal for families and groups of friends or colleagues.

Cyprus is another ideal spring break location due to its fantastic beaches and sunny weather with the right temperatures. Good thing the Republic of Northern Cyprus has opened up to tourism and vacationers now have more options. Language is not a problem since English is widely used on the island. Accommodation and other vacation facilities are plentiful in the Paphos, Limassol and Larnaca areas, located on the Greek side of the island. The Troodos Mountains are an ideal scenic attraction for active vacationers who love hiking or biking. Some of the best beaches on the island are found on Karpas, a narrow peninsula that has long stretches of white sand beach. Among the best known resorts are Kyrenia in the north and Famagusta on the east coast.

Turkey also has excellent resorts located along the coasts of the Aegean Sea and the Mediterranean. These are Izmir, Bodrum, Kusadasi, Marmaris, and Antalya, among many others. More coastal cities are being developed for tourism purposes. Turkey has long been a favorite destination for British vacationers who love to explore the shores of the Aegean Sea and the Mediterranean. Spring is the ideal time to enjoy the beaches of Turkey with good temperatures ranging between 17 and 21 ° C.

If a Caribbean vacation is your dream, the best places to visit are Jamaica, Punta Cana, Bermuda, and Barbados. In Jamaica, there are many things you can do like snorkeling and parasailing on its unique beaches, climbing Dunn’s River Falls, exploring the forests, and strolling around the place with your family and friends. Negril is an ideal spring break destination with seven miles of white sand beaches. Experience real nature in Negril as you won’t find the usual tall structures and hotel chains that abound at many beach resorts.

Bermuda offers a more private setting with fewer crowds. Touring the island for sightseeing can be done simply by bicycle or by bus, taxi or ferry. Try cruise ship excursions and visit The Aquarium and Devil’s Hole, both popular tourist attractions.

For more privacy, Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic is the place to go. Several all-inclusive resorts offer a great experience. For more outdoor adventures, you can try a safari in the jungles of Hispaniola or swimming with dolphins in the Caribbean Sea.
