Either when we are looking for the right house, to buy it, to make it our own, or we believe that our needs have changed and our residence, as it is, no longer meets our needs, goals and priorities, it might make sense to carefully consider our options. Obviously one is to select a different house and move into it. However, often somewhere that seems to not meet our needs and expectations, it could be transformed into our dream home. This means having the will and ability to see things, as they could be, rather than current limitations. Is it wise to carefully assess whether it makes more sense to buy a house, with most of the features, etc., that you are looking for, or a smaller, less expensive one that can be modified and customized to your needs? personal tastes and preferences. With that in mind, this article will briefly attempt to consider, examine, review, and discuss 4 factors that could lead you to fix, rather than buy someone else’s ideas, of a finished product.
1. Bones: Look at the bones, of a property, instead of just the cosmetics, as they exist! Does the place in particular have the construction, quality, location, etc., that makes it something special? Will it make sense, when you combine the costs of the existing property, with the necessary construction costs, to proceed in this way? What do you like about your specific location, size of property, etc.? Are you able to see things, as they could be, and are you willing to suffer temporary inconvenience, to submit to the project?
two. Cost considerations: What can you afford and what do you need, seek and want? Compare the cost of buying a home, finished to someone else’s taste, to buying a home, fixing it up, and turning it into your custom residence?
3. Your personal tastes and priorities: It is almost impossible to find a place that exactly meets and/or exceeds each of your perceived requirements and/or preferences! How happy could you be without some of these inclusions? Is the location as good as the other? What about the property/lot, considerations/use/needs/priorities? Almost always, someone makes a purchase, does a degree project, etc., to address some personal problem and/or taste. Compare each problem, related to, comparing a more complete real estate, with one, you will renovate and update!
Four. What do you want and need?: Take the time and effort to consider what you want, need, and prefer. Differentiate between true and secondary desires.
