The Petronas Twin Towers: an exceptional architectural marvel

The Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur are an outstanding architectural marvel and stand out as the world’s tallest twin building. At the time of its inauguration, it was the tallest building in the world with 88-story towers and unique Islamic art that gave it a distinctive local style. Elegantly located in the modern city of Kuala Lumpur, the towers are considered an iconic landmark symbolizing Malaysia’s great transformation.

The design of the towers was based on a mixture of art, science and nature. This is reflected in the inclusion of the Science Discovery Center, Symphonic Concert Hall and the Suria KLCC Mall. The Dewan Filharmonik Petronas is located on the podium of the towers and is recognized as one of the best-sounding acoustic concert halls in the world. Home to the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, the hall is famous for its classical music performances. Petrosains, the Petroleum Discovery Center is a modern science center with hands-on sessions and elaborate exhibits that create a fun-filled experience. The sky bridge built between the 41st and 42nd floors of the towers is a unique feature at the Petronas Twin Towers. The bridge is 170 m above the ground, which is why it is classified as the highest double-decker bridge in the world. Outside the Towers is the KLCC Park which contains a lighted fountain, jogging paths, wading pools and a playground.
