My dog is not smart!

Cooper, why don’t you listen? I mean I feed you and pet you and play with you, but you keep insisting on doing your thing. You don’t like it when I give you treats? Do you want me to yell at you? Of course not, he loves his treats and ignores me when I yell at him. I’ve learned that my dog has a mind of his own, he listens if it’s convenient, but oh I love him so much.

Are you having trouble getting your dog to listen to you? Does your dog have a mind of its own? Well, you just need to have a little patience and train your dog. Cooper constantly tests me and I constantly tell him to relax and listen. 🙂 I mean he is a smart dog, he knows what time to eat, he waits for me every day to let him out to play. I think hyperactive dogs get bored and need that outlet to focus on getting some energy out.

Cooper is like a 3 year old, all over the place, today I finally threw out this old soccer ball that I had in the trash can outside. Well, my wife and I took the dogs for a walk today and when we came back from the store my wife went to throw some trash in the can outside and he was there: “Please, mom, give me the ball, I’ll do anything.” !” It was in the trash! Come on Cooper we’ll get you a new one. This happens all the time, your focus just isn’t there, well positive reinforcement is the key along with a lot of patience and love.

We are learning how to jump over the hurdles together and I think the improvements in the last year with him have been phenomenal. I hope your success in training your dog goes just as well. Keep your focus, praise them often and they will love and obey you forever!
