The electrical performance of PCBs is largely determined by the thickness and type of conductors they contain. Another important consideration is the choice of copper material. It is recommended that you choose a low-loss copper. However, ENIG and ENEPIG are preferred due to their flatness and ease of soldering. Moreover, they are also less expensive than hard or soft gold. In addition, they provide excellent etch resistance and thermal stability. The other advantage of these finishes is their ability to be laser drilled without vaporizing the material. This is especially useful for drilling holes in areas where it would be difficult to use conventional methods.
