When buying a puppy from the newspaper, you should take the same precautions you would take from any other source. Be sure to talk extensively with the breeder or owner and ask them as many questions as possible. It’s usually easy to tell if they have something to hide. Demand that they provide you with photos of the puppies by email if they are located elsewhere. If the breeder claims the dogs are registered, ask them to email copies of the dogs’ documents so he can verify the authenticity of the claims. Most pet ads online are legitimate, but there are people looking to make a quick buck off you and your pup.
