Having built a huge following since its release in 1987, The Princess Bride continues to entertain new generations of fans. His enduring story and timeless humor are sure to cement his place among the hallowed halls of classic cinema elites. The Princess Bride is one of the few movies that everyone should see. When a kind-hearted grandfather (Peter Falk) reads a story to his grandson (Fred Savage), his grandson finds the story of his life… The Princess Bride follows the story of the beautiful maiden Buttercup (Robin Wright), who falls in love with a poor stable boy named Westley (Cary Elwes). But the two are separated when Westley is captured by a gang of pirates, and Buttercup is kidnapped by the evil Prince Humperdinck (Chris Sarandon) who intends to make her his wife.

But when the Dread Pirate Roberts (who could be Westley) arrives on the scene, he is intent on rescuing Buttercup from the evil prince’s clutches. To do so, he must overcome a series of obstacles, and must assume the skills and strength of a master swordsman, Iñigo Montoya (Mandy Patinkin), and a massive giant, Fezzik (Andre the Giant). When the two men discover that the Dread Pirate Roberts is more than a match for their combined abilities, they join him in his noble effort to rescue the princess bride, Buttercup. But Prince Humperdinck and his evil female henchman (including a six-fingered man who may have killed Iñigo Montoya’s father) stand in his way…

The Princess Bride plays host to a number of fun scenes, but among the best is a sword fight that takes place between Westley and Inigo Montoya on top of a large cliff. The two men talk trash to each other in calm voices as a well-choreographed fencing match takes place. It simply needs to be seen to enjoy the level of hilarity. Also, the late Andre the Giant shows off his skills as a cute and lovable big guy with a big heart. All of the various characters and their conflicts are brought together with an original score set to organ music that highlights the climax of each fight. It fits very well with the overall fantasy theme and makes The Princess Bride a better movie from every perspective…

Non-stop fun and laughter from start to finish, The Princess Bride is one of the most memorable movies you’ll ever see. It’s easy to get involved in the plight of the main characters, and the exotic fairy tale setting of the Middle Ages makes for an always interesting setting. The Princess Bride is the perfect family movie for parents to enjoy with their children. It’s one of those rare movies that is more than capable of walking the fine line between adult and child humor. Due to its brilliant script and unmatched comedic value, The Princess Bride is definitely a must see movie…
