Shadow Priest Leveling Compilation for Cataclysm

A priest is one of the most desired classes for late game raids, but you won’t be getting there anytime soon unless you’re using a Shadow Priest leveling build. This is the absolute best talent spec for solo quests up to level 85. However, many players don’t know how to really boost their Shadow Priest’s potential and thus don’t actually make it to level 85 in time. that should. . Read on and I’ll reveal how to build your Shadow Priest for power leveling.

Why choose a Shadow Priest leveling build?

Shadow has absolutely the best DPS of any of the talent trees. This is your best option for solo missions by far. Discipline is a great alternative to Shadow if you want to take a safer path and has great burst damage against a single target, but Shadow has the best damage against multiple mobs when using a DoT Farming strategy. Additionally, Shadow has excellent mana efficiency. In fact, you should never run out of mana if you use the right talents, abilities, and glyphs. Skills you need to use to

Glyphs for your Shadow Priest leveling build

Your glyphs are just as important, if not more so, than the talent points you choose. If you don’t use the glyph correctly, you’re only using a fraction of the potential of your Shadow Priest leveling structure. For the main glyphs, you’ll want to use Shadow Word: Death, Shadow Word: Pain, and Dispersion. SW:D and SW:P are two of the most important spells in your arsenal, so it’s important that you have them. Dispersion adds some much-needed survivability and mana regeneration when you get it, so definitely shoot it. The main glyphs you want to choose from are Spirit Tap, Psychic Scream, and Psychic Horror. Spirit Tap is absolutely necessary for your mana regeneration, especially at lower levels. This should be your first main glyph. Psychic Scream and Psychic Horror are great survival options. The minor Glyphs that you can equip are Levitate, Fortitude, and Shadowfiend. The former is mainly for convenience. I hate carrying reagents. With passion. Fortitude greatly reduces mana usage and Shadowfiend restores some mana if it dies. Who doesn’t like more mana? Overall, these glyphs contribute a lot to your Shadow Priest’s leveling build.

Gear for your Shadow Priest leveling build

One thing that can slow you down while leveling up your Shadow Priest is the wrong gear. You can only use fabric, and it’s all wheel gear. However, not all stats are created equal. You want a weapon with high spell power. That’s a no-brainer for any caster class. However, you need to stack your stats appropriately. Intellect is definitely number one for any caster class. However, Spirit is one of the most important secondary stats. This is usually a healer stat, but for the Shadow Priest it contributes to mana regen and hit rate. Stack this right after Intellect. It’s a secondary stat, so it shouldn’t conflict with Intellect. Once you get hit with Spirit Cap, Haste is the next important secondary stat for you. His DoT works faster and his global cooldowns are reduced, meaning he can deal more damage and make bigger pulls. Crit is also good, but it ranks just below haste for utility. Don’t reforge to crit unless you’re over the hit limit.
