Interior decoration: 3 ideas for masculine bedroom designs

All right, gentlemen… You know your bedroom needs a decoration, and while you understand that quilts with wildlife and/or camouflage are not an option, no man should be forced to sleep in a room where “shabby” and ” chic” has taken over, right? Take a deep breath, guys. You can have an adult bedroom without flowers or decorations, and I’ve got you covered. Here are three types of very stylish bedroom designs that definitely have masculine in mind.

1.Traditional

For this design, choose heavy furniture that has a sense of age, in fine dark woods like walnut and mahogany. While you can have carvings and details, avoid the curvy elements of French, Tuscan or Queen Anne design in favor of straighter lines. Select a bed with a high headboard for your height, but a low footboard, as most men don’t like the feeling of being cooped up. For bedding, use what are commonly referred to as “menswear” fabrics: houndstooth, plaid, cashmere, wool, and flannel. On windows, go with a thick curtain, like velvet or chenille. If there is seating in the room, rich leather with studded trim is ideal. Colors should be deep and subdued, such as olive green, burgundy, brown, dark gold, or navy blue; think of colors that evoke that “library” feeling. Keep the lighting warm and subdued by using metal or richly colored lampshades, which will cast attractive spotlights. Artworks should be classical, possibly including landscapes, portraits, or still lifes. Finish off the space with a luxurious oriental rug.

2.Rustic

The rustic room will be made up of woody and earthy elements and can be dressed up like a luxury ski lodge or a cabin in the woods. (Relax, ladies…moose head not included.) To start, select furniture with lots of natural features, such as oak, pine, or hickory. The pieces should be heavy, but simple. A bed with a slatted headboard would be perfect, but a very simple wrought iron one could also work. As with the traditional lounge, leather is a great choice for seating, but this time go for smooth, distressed leather with lots of wrinkles and marks. Keep the fabrics in this room mostly solid, with textures of interest, such as cotton, denim, flannel, wool, and even knits. Your color scheme will reflect the earthy inspiration, with shades of blue, green, brown, khaki and beige. For the windows, opt for wooden shutters in a tone that matches the furniture. Select lamps made from natural materials like wood or iron, and for artwork, stick with scenes from nature (but no howling wolves, please). On the floor, a Navajo, braided or geometric Persian rug will complete the look perfectly.

3. meter

The design of the subway room is clean, modern and elegant. Here, you’ll want low-key furniture with strong horizontal lines, absolutely ZERO ornamentation, and a dark color, like espresso or black. Platform beds are an excellent option for this design. The color scheme should be very sharp and graphic: black, gray and white. For bedding, keep it simple. All white is easy and perfect for the style – think five-star hotel. Window treatments should be simple and minimal, such as designer screens or grommet-top curtain panels. For seats, leather is still the answer, but this time in elegant black or white, with fine lines, square arms and straight legs. When it comes to lighting, this is your chance to add some sparkle. Choose shiny materials like glass or porcelain, or shiny metals like nickel or chrome. Take a walk on the wild side with bold abstract art pieces and anchor the space with a thick shag rug or flokati for the floor.
