Healthrider R60 treadmill review

For casual users, the HealthRiderR60 treadmill is definitely not lacking in the standard or standout features that the consumer may want. Thought by most in the field to be at least worth the price tag it’s been given, the R60 remains a middle-of-the-road machine.

While the I-fit system and oversized walking surface are pluses and definitely not standard, there are still boring standard features like fans, speakers, and a heart monitor. Things you just expect on a treadmill now.

Many consumers in the fitness field have already heard of the I-fit system. Using I-fit.com and the equipment available, consumers can make a personalized weight loss plan to get in better shape. This is a professionally developed and tested plan, speaking of a bonus!

To access the I-fit program, the consumer can use one of two methods, either by purchasing an optional CD or by using an Internet connection. I-fit programs are already detailed enough to provide the consumer with such an exercise, and also follow professional guidelines.

By taking advantage of the speakers, the consumer can have an audio boost while using the I-fit program. As an even better benefit, there is a damping system that over the years has changed for the better. Users will now find that there is also much less impact on their knees and joints.

Great machine, great value?

Who doesn’t appreciate a great running surface to use? I know what I do. That’s something the R60 has: a 60″x20″ area. Another thing that’s nice about a running area of this size: Older consumers, who may feel insecure about themselves or just want to walk, can feel free to do so.

Also, other consumers who are less durable and want more confidence can get it by using this larger area.

For those consumers who want, even need, value, having the I-fit system built into the HealthRiderR60 gives them just that. Trying to meet fitness goals is something every consumer wants to do and still keep up their workouts.

Availability of the I-fit system on all HealthRider systems is found on all recent models. Due to this availability, the brand has an individual fanfare of its own.

Even if the consumer doesn’t use the I-fit system, there are still a host of other programs available for them to use: distance, heart rate, fat burning, and timed workouts as well. Although these programs are just average programs, the consumer will still be able to achieve more than just the I-fit system or plain old manual setup.

However, there is a downside to the HealthRiderR60’s large running surface: there is no large motor to go with it! 60″ x 20″ dimension belts must have a motor larger than the 2.0 CHP motor supplied with this treadmill. For those consumers who want to make a serious career out of the R60, it’s just not going to happen.

Another drawback is the warranty. For the $1,500 price tag, HealthRider’s warranty is definitely not what consumers expect. As a result, they look elsewhere, particularly high-end machines.

Yet another disappointment for the HealthRiderR60 is the console: it’s seriously out of date. Who wants to buy a machine that looks like it’s from the 80’s? I do not. Considering the I-fit system is on the machine, it seems like a pretty simple concept that an updated console would have been a pretty easy thing to do for a machine at this price point.

It’s ok for walking, forget about serious running

Aside from the great features that this machine has, this machine is really kind of boring. Yes, it is good for walking. If you’re happy with less than ten percent incline and a big belt, then this machine is for you.

However, this machine is not for those consumers who want to do serious work at high speeds; the motor won’t handle it and it will just fine.

Still, I’ll recommend the HealthRider R60 for those who want a machine that falls in the mid-price range and want to get involved with the I-fit system.
