Dangerous foods for dogs, what you MUST know if you love your pet

You’d be surprised if you really knew how many foods are dangerous for dogs.

Sure, we’ve all heard over and over again that you shouldn’t overfeed your dog. Many pet owners, otherwise lovers, simply don’t realize how many varieties of our “people” food are dangerous, if not deadly, to their dog.

To start, let’s take a look at garlic and onion. I don’t know about you, but these are necessary ingredients in almost all of my cooking, especially Italian cooking, and they are great for our health. However, these vegetables can have a devastating effect on your dog’s health. A dog’s constitution can only handle a very small dose of these, ideally it’s best if they have none.

I don’t know about you, but I grew up with the little raisin-maid girl and to this day it’s my favorite addition to any trail mix I eat. Also, any type of grape, whether red or green, is a regular part of my healthy diet. As these are beneficial and healthy for us and a preferred snack that I give to my children, but they are very bad for our dog’s health.

Did you know that raw pork is also a very dangerous food for your dog? If they eat any of this raw meat, it is very possible that they will acquire an incurable digestive disease. If you really need to give them pork, you can overcook or freeze it for at least 3 weeks to make it safe and no longer a dangerous food for your dog.

It is also imperative that you never feed avocados to your dog, as the seed, flesh, and skin are all poisonous to dogs.

Macadamia nuts are one of the most dangerous foods for dogs. Also, most other forms of nuts are questionable and would be the responsibility of a loving pet owner to avoid them altogether.

At the top of the list is chocolate! Most of us know that this deliciously deadly food is highly toxic to our dogs and you should never give it to your friend as it is the most dangerous of all foods for your dog.

Now, this may be the most controversial dangerous food for your dog of all. That food is the bones. I know you are telling yourself that bones are a natural treat for dogs. That the bones are what they could eat if they were wild. How can bones be toxic to dogs? Let me just say that “raw” bones are great for your dogs health and are actually good for your dog. However, “cooked” bones are ruled out. The problem with cooked bones is that they can easily splinter and cause internal lacerations in your digestive tract, not good! So, stop giving your dogs a cooked bone. If you’re grilling that steak, take the time ahead of time and cut off the bone first before cooking. If that’s too much to do, just get a boneless sirloin or NY Strip without the bone.

It is my hope that you have learned a thing or two regarding dangerous foods for your dog and prevent any future harm to your beloved pet. I didn’t learn these facts until it was too late, as I lost my dear “Daisy” the hound last year due to toxic overload of her liver, which was already weakened when she got into something bad when she was a kid. puppy. Follow this advice and be blessed with a long and healthy relationship with her dog.
